i was walking home from the marketplace tonight by myself, because my dining accompaniment was finishing up and i wanted to head back for a quick nap.
and it was a funny shade of blue-orange outside; a weird, hazy twilight.
and as i was walking by the sunken gardens, i saw two kids holding hands and starspinning on the grass.
that was awesome.
today was a pretty good day -
american history was good
i skipped math
we got wendys(!) and went to the airport
kiley, clarity and i had a moment on the ride home
women’s studies was good
etc etc etc
it was warm & i liked that
kinda dismal though.
i was also thinking while i was walking home from dinner that it’s a big lie that the world is small. there is so much to one person. everyone has a million stories, thoughts, ideas. how can the world be small when each individual is so complicated? and there are so many people, even just in this immediate area or at this school.
it’s no wonder we are all so easily replaced.
do you ever walk down the street looking at all the people around you and wonder what their individual stories are, or what they are thinking at that one particular moment? do you ever actually think of all the people around you as real people, and not just bodies?
sometimes i wish we could draw big thick lines connecting each person to the people they are thinking about, or the people they love, or the people they wish they’d kissed, or the people that hurt them, or the people that make them angry. and it would make this huge, unruly web, stretching out over a very vast range of people with very far-reaching proximity. it would reaffirm my standing that the world is not small at all, but really quite large. if you took even a small sample of students at this college, do you know how extensive that web would be? it’s insane.
there are so many people worth knowing, i think.

awww. i remember being there, maybe not for this particular day, but at that time. what is amazing to me is how kind this entry is, whereas my lj from that time period was heinous. something to be proud of, 5 years on.
